Communication as Possibility of Overcoming of Current Forms of Discrimination of People with Different Sexual Orientation

Abstract:

Homoparentální rodičovství je čím dál tím více aktuální téma. Je to současně také téma velmi kontroverzní, které dělí společnost na dva tábory. Na ty, kteří jsou pro a na ty, kteří jsou proti. V rámci teoretické části jsou tedy identifikovány nejčetnější postoje veřejnosti vůči homoparentálnímu rodičovství a do jaké míry v těchto postojích hrají roli stereotypy a tradiční předsudky společnosti. Je zde vytvořen základní přehled stereotypních postojů společnosti vůči homoparentálnímu rodičovství. Tohoto je dosaženo shromážděním maximálního množství relevantních údajů obsažených v uskutečněných průzkumech národních i mezinárodních organizací a institucí. Samozřejmě byla využita i odborná literatura, v tuzemsku bohužel nepříliš četná, odborná publicistika i odpovídající zdroje v printových, elektronických i online médiích. Dále jsou zde zmapovány možnosti rodičovství homosexuální minority v České republice. V praktické části je využita kvantitativní metoda standardizovaného dotazníku v rámci výzkumné sondy. Ta zjišťuje, zda mají lidé v Praze dostatek informací o homoparentálním rodičovství a jeho vlivu na dítě a jestli o tyto informace mají vůbec zájem. Dále zjišťuje, zda negativní postoj k homoparentálnímu rodičovství souvisí s nedostatkem informací o dané problematice. V neposlední řadě mapuje postoje lidí v Praze k homoparentálnímu rodičovství a důvod těchto postojů. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována negativním postojům resp., který z uvedených v teoretické části převládá. Tato zjištění určují, na jaké téma by se měla zaměřit mediální kampaň pro danou problematiku.

Abstract:

The topic of the homoparental family is becoming more and more relevant. This topic is very controversial at the same time and splits society into two groups: those who are in favour of and those who are unfavourable to it. Thus, within the theoretical part of the thesis the most numerous attitudes of the public towards the homoparental family are indicated as well as the role and extent of the stereotypes and traditional prejudice of society in forming them. There is a basic overview of the stereotypical attitudes of society towards the homoparental family. This has been achieved by collecting a maximum amount of relevant data included in surveys which were carried out by various associations and institutions both on national and international levels. It goes without saying that professional literature – unfortunately not too copious in this country –, professional journalistic materials and adequate sources in print, electronic and online media have also been used. Further, the possibilities of parenthood for a homosexual minority in the Czech Republic are outlined here. In the practical part of the thesis a quantitative method of a standardized questionnaire within a research probe is used. It aims to find out whether people in Prague are sufficiently informed about the homoparental family and its influence on the child and whether they are ever interested in getting the information. Besides, the method is searching for the answer to a question if the negative attitude towards the homoparental family relates to the lack of information about the points at issue. Last but not least the method indicates the attitudes of people in Prague towards the homoparental family and gives their backing up. Negative attitudes are paid special attention to, or which of the stated ones outweighs in the theoretical part, as the case may be. The findings determine the topic which media campaign for the points at issue should bring into focus.
