Development of the Czech Republic's foreign trade in timber

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou zahraničního obchodu ČR se dřevem. Hlavním cílem je vyhodnocení vývoje zahraničního obchodu ČR se dřevem a popsání aktuální situace na trhu se dřevem. V práci je nastíněn stav lesního hospodářství, jakožto základ pro produkci dřeva. Bakalářská práce využívá odborné české i zahraniční zdroje informací z oblastí lesního hospodářství, zahraničního obchodu a dalších přidružených tématik. Dle zjištění je produkce dřeva v České republice vyšší, než jsou možné kapacity pro zpracování, což má za důsledek vysoký objem vývozu surového dřeva. Vysoká produkce je známkou dobrého lesního hospodářství, které je však nutné i do budoucna provádět udržitelně vůči klimatickým změnám. Vysokým vývozem nezpracovaného dřeva se ČR řadí mezi hlavní evropské i světové exportéry, připravuje se však o možnost zhodnocení při následném zpracování.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of foreign trade of the Czech Republic in timber. The main objective is to examine the development of the Czech Republic's foreign trade in timber and describe the current situation on the timber market. The thesis outlines the state of forestry as a basis for wood production. The bachelor thesis uses relevant Czech and foreign sources of information from the fields of forestry, foreign trade and other related topics. According to the findings, wood production in the Czech Republic is higher than the possible processing capacity, which results in a high volume of raw wood exports. The high production is a sign of good forest management, but it must be carried out sustainably in the future in the face of climate change. The high export of unprocessed timber makes the Czech Republic one of the main European and world exporters, but it deprives it of the possibility of valorisation in further processing.
