Art deco and its influence on contemporary furniture design

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá stylem Art deco, jsou zde popsány hlavní znaky, inspirační zdroje, známá díla nebo umělci, ale také technologie využívané v tomto období. Celá práce je provázena obrázky, aby si čtenář mohl vytvořit ucelenou představu. Hlavní důraz je kladen na technologie, a to jak ty původní využívané na počátku 20. století, ale také na technologie moderní a jejich možnost využití při aplikaci tradičních vzorů stylu Art deco na nábytek, což je názorně předvedeno v praktické části.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the art deco style. It describes the main characteristics, sources of inspiration, famous works or artists, but also the technologies used in this period. The whole work is accompanied by pictures so that the reader can create a comprehensive picture. The thesis focus on technologies, both the original ones used at the beginning of the 20th century, but also the modern technologies and their possibility to use the traditional Art Deco style furniture designs. It is demonstrated in the practical part.
