Supersingular isogenies and their applications in cryptography

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se věnujeme postkvantové kryptografii a jejím algoritmům. Zabýváme se principy některých postkvantových protokolů využívajících supersingulární eliptické křivky a isogenie. Hlavní část této práce se zaměřuje na SIDH. Co možná nejpodrobněji popíšeme každý krok protokolu SIDH, v čem jsou jeho výhody a kde je naopak potřeba něco vylepšit. Protokol je ilustrován na dvou příkladech, jeden je počítán „ručně“, ukazuje jak se přesně vše počítá, druhý už je pomocí programu Sage, který má některé výpočty již implementovány. Dále se pak věnujeme protokolu SIKE, který je založený právě na SIDH. Popíšeme několik vylepšení, které tento protokol přinesl. A nakonec si povíme něco o CSIDH s principy Diffie-Hellmanova protokolu na výměnu klíčů.

Abstract:

In this thesis, we are going to study post-quantum cryptography and its algorithms. We are going to deal with the principles of some post-quantum protocols using supersingular elliptic curves and isogenies. The main part of this thesis is focused on SIDH. We are going to describe each step of the SIDH protocol in detail as much as it is possible, where are its advantages and flaws that could be improved. The protocol is illustrated in~two examples, one is counted ``by hand'', it shows how are all things exactly calculated. In the other example is used the Sage where some calculations are already implemented. Then we are going to pay attention to the SIKE protocol, which is based on SIDH. We are going to describe several improvements brought by SIKE. Finally, we are going to talk about CSIDH with Diffie-Hellman key exchange principles.
