Paleontological survey of the SLE "Spontaneous anthropogenic landscape shapes after the anthracite mining east and south of the Brandov Village"

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na brandovskou pánev po stránce geologie a paleontologie. Na okraji obce Brandov se nachází halda bývalého antracitového dolu Zdař Bůh, kde jsem měl za cíl provést paleontologický průzkum lokality. Práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. V teoretické části popisuji geologickou stavbu České republiky a podrobněji se věnuji brandovské pánvi. Praktická část se týkala aktuálního stavu lokality a vlastních sběrů vzorků fosilií. Daný průzkum byl úspěšný, na lokalitě se stále nachází zajímavé druhy paleontologických rostlin. Našel jsem 100 fragmentů fosilií, určených do těchto taxonů: Sigillaria tessellata, Sigillaria cf. voltzii, Sigillaria sp., Cyperites sp., Syringodendron sp., Calamites sp., Sphenophyllum cf. cuneifolium, Sphenophyllum sp., Corynepteris cf. angustissima, Neuropteris sp. a Cordaites sp.

Abstract:

The bachelor work is focused on Brandov basin in terms of geology and paleontology. On the border of Brandov there is a heap of the former anthracite mine called Zdař Bůh, where I was aiming to perform a paleontological survey of the locality. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, I describe the geological structure of the Czech Republic and devote more detail to the Brandov basin. The practical part concerned the current situation of the locality and own collections of fossil samples. The survey was successful; there are still interesting species of paleontological plants on the locality. I found 100 fragments of fossils, determine to following species: Sigillaria tessellata, Sigillaria cf. voltzii, Sigillaria sp., Cyperites sp., Syringodendron sp., Calamites sp., Sphenophyllum cf. cuneifolium, Sphenophyllum sp., Corynepteris cf. angustissima, Neuropteris sp. and Cordaites sp.
