The name of this diploma thesis is ”Vision and Reality: Revitalization of the Saami Language in School and Kindergarten in Norway after 1997”. The Saami people are indigenous people in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. Tato diplomová práce pojednává o revitalizaci sámského jazyka ve školkách a na zakládních školách v Norsku. Sámové patří mezi původní obyvatele Norska, Švédska, Finska a Ruska. Od poloviny 18. st. probíhala v Norsku jejich asimilace a norvegizace, jejíž důsledkem je to, že většina Sámů dnes sámsky nemluví. Přesto si přejí, aby se jejich děti sámsky naučily.
