Communist Ideology and Folklore Movement between the Years 1945-1956 (the Case of the Folk Festivals in Strážnice and Tvrdonice)

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je vyhledat a analyzovat projevy komunistické ideologie v akcích, které souvisely v polovině 20. století s lidovou kulturou, a zhodnotit jejich politický a společenský význam. První kapitoly uvádí do problematiky popisem politicko-společenských poměrů a kulturní politiky po 2. světové válce i jejich postupné proměny. Ústředním tématem práce jsou pak folklorní slavnosti a festivaly. Teritoriálně jsem se zaměřila na oblast Slovácka, kde jsem se podrobněji věnovala Mezinárodníu folklornímu festivalu ve Strážnici, který se poprvé konal v roce 1946 pod názvem Československo v tanci a zpěvu, a ve stejném roce poprvé uspořádané dnešní národopisné slavnosti Podluží v písni a tanci v nedalekých Tvrdonicích.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to find and analyze the speeches of communist ideology in relation to the events of the first half of the 20th century, which were related to folk culture, and evaluate their political and social importance. The first chapter introduces the issue with the description of the political and social conditions and cultural policy after the Second World War and their transformations. The central topic of this work is folk festivals. I focus on a region called Moravian Slovakia. More specifically, I describe the international folk festival in Strážnice, which first took place in 1946 under the name of Czechoslovakia in dancing and singing, and in the same year the first time organized today's ethnographic festival Podluží in song and dance in the nearby village Tvrdonice.
