Abstract:

Tato práce popisuje problematiku stavu současného polovodičového průmyslu s užším zaměřením na součástku procesoru (CPU). Geopolitickými aspekty polovodičového průmyslu, který se během let díky intenzivní konkurenci vyvinul do průmyslu vysoce specializovaného, kdy navrhování, testování, výroba a balení integrovaných obvodů je velice složité a nákladné, se zabývá první část práce. Ruku v ruce s pokroky výroby v polovodičovém průmyslu je pokrok v oblasti samotných čipů, které jsou jeho produkty. Příkladem složitějšího čipu je právě procesor. Nicméně změny se nedějí pouze na základě lepších výrobních vlastností daných čipů, ale také, a to především, díky vylepšením architektury, designu a inovacím. Rozdělení částí procesoru do čipletů, vrstvení čipů, kombinace velkých a malých jader a dalšími trendy se zabývá druhá část práce. Třetí část je poté věnována testování procesorů na základě stanovených kritérií.

Abstract:

This thesis describes the state of the current semiconductor industry with a closer focus on the processor component (CPU). The first part of the thesis deals with the geopolitical aspects of the semiconductor industry, which over the years has developed into a highly specialized industry due to intense competition, where the design, testing, production and packaging of integrated circuits are very complex and expensive. Hand in hand with the advances in manufacturing in the semiconductor industry are advances in the chips themselves, which are its products. An example of a more complex chip is the processor. However, changes are not only due to the better manufacturing performance of the chips, but also, and above all, due to improvements in architecture, design and innovation. The second part of the work deals with the division of processor parts into chiplets, chip layering, combinations of large and small cores and other trends. The third part is then devoted to testing processors based on established criteria.
