Abstract:

Diplomová práce Člověk – stroj – umělá bytost pojednává o uměle vytvořených bytostech a mechanismech. Ve své práci jsem se věnovala legendám o těchto bytostech a jejich historickému vývoji, tak jak se chronologicky objevovaly v rozličných kulturních a dějinných souvislostech. Především jsem se zaměřila na mýtus o golemovi, jeho aplikaci na stav současné společnosti z pohledu rozvoje výpočetních technologií. Tento koncept jsem rozvinula v teorii argumentu čínského pokoje a Turingova testu umělé inteligence. Dále se věnuji pověsti o golemovi v židovské tradici, mutacím této legendy v rámci židovské kabaly, s ohledem na rozšíření ve světové mytologii a rozvoj v historickém kontextu. Následně se zabývám možnostmi uplatnění umělé bytosti jako tématu ve výtvarném umění a využití legendy o golemovi jako námětu v literatuře a dějinách umění. Podrobněji jsem se zaměřila na román Gustava Meyrinka Golem, který byl zároveň jedním z nejdůležitějších inspiračních zdrojů mé práce. Praktická část mé diplomové práce je tvořena cyklem maleb a krátkým videem na výše uvedená témata.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis Man- machine- artificial existence discusses artificially constructed creatures and mechanisms. This work is particularly focused on the legends of artificial existences and their historical emergence as they chronologically appeared in different cultural and historical contexts. It is especially focused on the legend of Golem and its implication in the today´s society considering the development of the information technologies. This theory is outlined in the argument of Chinese room and the theory of Turing´s test of artificial intelligence. Further on I deal with the jewish legend of Golem, alternation of this legend in jewish cabbala, in the world´s mythology and its development in historical context. This work also considers the possible use of artificial existence as an art topic and the use of the legend of Golem in literature and history of art. More closely I focus on the novel of Gustav Meyrink, Golem, which , at the same time, was the most important source of inspiration of my work.The practical part of this work consists of the cycle of paintings and a short video recording on the above mentioned topic.
