Diseases and pests of woody plants in the urban environment

Abstract:

Práce pojednává o problematice abiotických, a především pak biotických faktorů u dřevin v městském prostředí. Cílem teoretické části je z dostupné literatury vytvořit přehled o daném tématu a utřídit nejběžnější škůdce a původce chorob. Mezi stěžejními kapitolami praktické části je metodika hodnocení patogenů. Podle vyhotovené metodiky jsou při terénním šetření hodnoceny napadené dřeviny v jednotlivých typech a plochách zeleně ve městě Česká Třebová. Při vizuální kontrole 940 jedinců v jarním období bylo zaznamenáno 188 potenciálních hrozeb na 164 vegetačních prvcích s výraznějšími známkami napadení. Původce, včetně jejich závažnosti, bylo možné určit ve 103 případech. U dalších dřevin se objevily symptomy odkazující na patogeny nebo se u nich dá v budoucnu předpokládat jejich přítomnost. Data zjištěná v terénu jsou zaznamenána do tabulek a výsledky konfrontovány s poznatky z teoretické části. Nejčastěji se jednalo o estetické vady způsobené hmyzími škůdci nebo nálezy plodnic i významných dřevokazných hub. Vyzdviženy jsou závažnější škůdci a choroby vyskytující se na modelovém území, u kterých nechybí doporučená řešení.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with abiotic, but primarily biotic factors at woody plants in the urban environment. The task of theoretic part is to make research of given subject using available bibliography and classify the most common pests and causal agents of diseases. Practical part of the thesis contains methodology for evaluating pathogens that is considered to be a substantial part of this paperwork. Affected woody plants in various vegetation types are evaluated according to the methodology across different urban areas in the town of Česká Třebová. Visual inspection of 940 specimens revealed 188 possible threats at 164 individuals with significant sings of disease. Causal agents were determined in 103 cases, including their seriousness. The others either showed symptoms referring to pathogens or presence of pathogens is expected in future. Data collected during fieldwork are recorded in tables, results are compared with theoretical findings. The most frequent findings belonged to esthetic defects caused by insects pests, but several fruiting bodies of dangerous wood-decay funguses were found. The most serious pests and diseases occurring in given area are emphasized together with suggested solutions.
