Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Beletristická próza Svatopluka Čecha (Romány Kandidát nesmrtelnosti a Ikaros) pojednává o prozaické tvorbě jednoho z nejvýznamnějších básníků devatenáctého století. Práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních kapitol s názvy Svatopluk Čech-dnešní stav poznání, Kandidát nesmrtelnosti a Ikaros a několika dalších podkapitol. Diplomová práce si klade za cíl přiblížit prozaickou tvorbu Svatopluka Čecha a zejména podrobně analyzovat jeho dva méně známé romány, které byly dobovou kritikou označeny za nezdařilé. Tyto dva romány v závěru porovnáváme.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis titled as The Imaginative Literature of Svatopluk Čech (Novels Kandidát nesmrtelnosti and Ikaros) deals with the imaginative works of Svatopluk Čech, one of the most leading poet of the 19th century. The thesis itself is divided into three chapters (1. Svatopluk Čech - the contemporary knowledge of both the author and his works, 2. Kandidát nesmrtelnosti, 3. Ikaros). The aim of this thesis is to focus on the imaginative literary works of Svatopluk Čech and to analyze his less known novels which did not have much success in the 19th century reviews.
