Analysis of transport services of Karlovy Vary

Abstract:

Cílem práce je analýza současného stavu dopravní obslužnosti města Karlovy Vary a navržení doporučení ke zlepšení jejího fungování. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část vysvětluje použité pojmy a metody pro analýzu ze sociodemografického a logistického pohledu a charakterizuje analyzované území. Praktická část se zabývá vlastní analýzou, jež zkoumá současnou demografickou a dopravní situaci města se zaměřením na demografické charakteristiky. Dopravní situace je zhodnocena na základě dopravní infrastruktury, autobusové a železniční dopravy a propojení se zjištěnými výsledky. Zjištěné skutečnosti jsou shrnuty v analýze SWOT, jež identifikuje silné a slabé stránky a příležitosti a hrozby dopravní obslužnosti města. V závěru jsou navržena doporučení ke zlepšení dopravní obslužnosti na základě zjištěných informací a prognózy obyvatel.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to analyze the current state of transport services of the city of Karlovy Vary and to suggest recommendations for improving its functioning. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part explains used concepts and methods for analysis from the sociodemographic and logistic point of view and characterizes the analyzed area. The practical part examines the current demographic and traffic situation of the city with a focus on demographic characteristics. The traffic situation is assessed on the basis of transport infrastructure, bus and rail transport and link with the results found. The findings are summarized in the SWOT analysis, which identifies strengths and weaknesses and opportunities and threats to city transport services. In the conclusion, recommendations are suggested to improve transport services on the basis of identified information and population forecast.
