Components of self-care and their using by teachers

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřila na téma péče o sebe v souvislosti s učitelskou profesí. Hlavním cílem bylo zkoumat využití konkrétních složek péče o sebe u učitelek a učitelů. Cílem práce také bylo srovnání míry vykonávání péče o sebe mezi učiteli a učitelkami, a učiteli různých typů škol. Teoretická část obsahuje tři kapitoly. První kapitola pojednává o konceptu péče o sebe. Další kapitola je zaměřena na jednotlivé složky péče o sebe, vycházející z definice péče o sebe dle Lovaš a kol. (2014). Poslední kapitola se zabývá charakteristikou učitelské profese a zátěžovými situacemi, se kterými se setkávají v rámci svého povolání. Ve výzkumné části práce jsou prezentovány výsledky, které byly sbírány pomocí dotazníku VPS - Dotazník vykonávané péče o sebe, autorů Lovaše a Hricové (2015). Výzkumný soubor byl tvořen 119 učiteli z Moravskoslezského kraje různých typů škol. Za významný výsledek výzkumné části této práce považuji zjištění aktuálně vykonávané péče o sebe u učitelek a učitelů. Výzkum poukázal, že učitelé se celkové péči o sebe i konkrétním složkám věnují občas. Rozdíl v míře vykonávání péče o sebe mezi učiteli a učitelkami nebyl prokázán. Ukázalo se, že pohlaví a typ školy nemá vliv na vykonávání péče o sebe u učitelů. V závěru práce se diskutuje nad výsledky a srovnáním s podobným výzkumem této tématiky.

Abstract:

The thesis describe the topic of self-care in connection with the teaching profession. The main goal was to explore the use of specific components of self-care for teachers. Other goals of the thesis were also to compare the level of self-care between male teachers and female teachers and teachers from different types of schools. The theoretical part contains three chapters. The first chapter deals with the concept of self-care. The next chapter focuses on individual components of self-care, based on the definition of self-care according to Lovaš et al. (2014). The last chapter describes the characteristics of the teaching profession and the stressful situations encountered in the course of their profession. The research part of the thesis presents the results, which were collected using the questionnaire VPS - self-care questionnaire, authors Lovaše and Hricová (2015). The research sample consists of 119 teachers from the Moravian-Silesian region at various types of schools. As a significant result of this research, I consider the discovery of the currently performed self-care for teachers. The research has shown that teachers take care of themselves occasionally. The difference in the level of self-care between male and female teachers has not been proven. It turned out that gender and type of school did not affect self-care used by teachers. The conclusion of the thesis describes the discussion of results and compares it with similar research on this topic.
