The Image of Karviná in Selected Prosaic Works (Memory of Places and Landscape in Fiction)

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá pamětí místa a krajiny města Karviná pohledem beletristických knih. Zkoumá díla čtyř autorů - Karla Barona, Karla Dvořáčka, Karin Lednické a Gustawa Morcinka, jejichž život, dílo a spojitost s Karvinou na začátku popisuje. Práce představuje také stručnou historii města a základní teorie výzkumu paměti, konkrétně místa paměti Pierra Nory, paměť míst Aleidy Assmannové a památná místa Eduarda Maura. Stěžejní částí je samotná analýza vybraných míst v korpusu děl, přičemž se tato kapitola zaměřuje na motivy města, domů a vody. Poslední část této diplomové práce tvoří kapitola s názvem didaktické využití analyzovaných děl, zahrnující představení modelu E-U-R, didaktické hry s názvem Kam plyneš, Olzo? a modelovou hodinu, která byla vyzkoušena na jednom z ostravských gymnázií.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the memory of the place and landscape of the city of Karviná from the perspective of fiction books. It examines the works of four authors - Karel Baron, Karel Dvořáček, Karin Lednické and Gustaw Morcinek, whose life, work and connection with Karviná are described at the beginning. The thesis also presents a brief history of the city and the basic theories of memory research, namely Pierre Nora's, Aleida Assmann's and Eduard Maur's. The analysis of the selected sites in the corpus of works is itself a central part of this chapter, focusing on the motives of the city, houses and water. The last part of this thesis is a chapter entitled didactic use of the analysed works, including the introduction of the E-U-R model, a didactic game entitled Kam plyneš, Olzo? and a model lesson that was tested in one of the high school in Ostrava.
