The journey to the mankind's salvation by the look of Petr Chelčický (in the context of different views on the salvation in his days)

Abstract:

Cílem práce je podat ucelený pohled Petra Chelčického na spasení lidstva po jednotlivých krocích v kontextu jiných názorů na toto téma v jeho době. Chelčického postoje jsou srovnány s názory Jana Husa a církve jejich doby, zároveň jsou doplněny stanovisky svatého Augustina. Svatý Augustin je v práci využíván pro představu ideálního obrazu církve. Prostřednictvím první části práce se můžeme seznámit s celkovými souvislostmi vývoje reformního myšlení, které bylo postupně krystalizováno uvnitř samotné katolické církve, nikoliv mimo ni. Na začátku práce se dočteme o důležitých momentech křesťanství od jeho počátků až po narůstající kritiku odklonu od duchovního odkazu prvotní církve. Další kapitola navazuje na reformní hnutí v českých zemích a dále je přiblížen život a dílo Petra Chelčického a Jana Husa, kteří se ve většině názorů na poměry v církvi shodovali. Přiblíženo je také husitství, které je důsledek vyvrcholení nespokojenosti se stavem v české soudobé církvi a společnosti. Druhá část práce je věnována již hlavnímu tématu. Počátek cesty ke spáse je stanoven svobodou lidské vůle a rozhodnutím pro hřích či spásu. Práce se poté ubírá definováním hříchu a dále kritikou světské moci, která se neobejde bez užití násilí. Následuje kapitola, ve které je zmíněna kritika samotné církevní moci a jejích pokřivených praktik a hromadění majetku. Chelčickým kritizované a odmítané hypotéze o očistci je věnována samotná kapitole, jelikož se jí autor ve svých dílech věnuje obsáhleji. Od očistce je přistoupeno k definici samotné víry, která je pro spasení duše tím nejdůležitějším aktem. V závěrečné kapitole se již můžeme dočíst o pokání a milosti boží, kterými je cesta ke spasení završena.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to give a Petr Chelčický's comprehensive view on the salvation of mankind step by step in context of other views on the subject in his time. Chelčický's attitudes are compared with the opinions of Jan Hus and the Church of their time. St. Augustine's views are added at the same time. St. Augustine is used in this thesis to imagine the ideal image of the Church. Through the first part of the work we can get acquainted with the overall context of the development of reform thinking, which was gradually crystallized within the Catholic Church itself, not outside it. At the beginning of the work we read about important moments of Christianity from its beginnings to the growing criticism of the departure from the spiritual link of the early Church. The next chapter builds on the reform movement in the Czech lands and the life and work of Petr Chelčický and Jan Hus is described, who, in most of the opinions on the affairs of the Church, agreed. Hussitism, which is the result of the climax of dissatisfaction with the situation in the Czech contemporary Church and society, is also described. The second part is devoted to the main topic. The beginning of the path to salvation is determined by the freedom of human will and the decision for sin or salvation. The thesis then proceeds by defining sin and further criticizing secular power that can not be done without the use of violence. The next chapter mentions criticism of Church power itself and its distorted practices and accumulation of property. Chelčický's criticized and rejected hypothesis about purgatory is devoted to the chapter itself, as the author deals with her in his works more extensively. After this hypothesis about purgatory, the definition of the faith is proceeded. This very faith itself is the most important act for salvation of the soul. In the final chapter, we can read about repentance and mercy, which are the way to salvation.
