Anti - corruption Activities of Civic Associations Focus and Results

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Protikorupční aktivity občanských sdružení – zaměření a výsledky, se zabývá největšími nestátními neziskovými organizacemi, které si určily cíl bojovat s korupcí v České republice. Na pozadí teorie o korupci a organizované občanské společnosti tato práce analyzuje přístup veřejnosti ke korupčním praktikám i k samotným občanským sdružením, dále se zde zjišťuje, jakých nástrojů čtyři největší organizace používají a čeho dosahují. Z průzkumů a šetření vyplývá postoj samotných občanů ke korupčnímu klimatu v zemi, z informací jednotlivých sledovaných organizací pak lze vysledovat důležitost spolupráce mezi těmito organizacemi. Práce poukazuje na fakt, že jednotlivé činnosti těchto organizací jsou provázané, patří mezi ně zejména informování (veřejnosti a orgánů činných v trestním řízení), osvěta, úsilí o změnu legislativy, poradenství, investigativní činnost a medializace případů korupčního jednání. O působení organizací na veřejné dění a politické procesy v zemi (např. volby) pak není pochyb.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis Anti-corruption Activities of Civic Associations - Focus and Results deals with the largest nongovernmental non-profit organizations which aim at fighting corruption in the Czech Republic. Based on the theory about corruption and civil society organizations, this paper analyzes the attitude of the public to corrupt practices as well as civic associations themselves. It then proceeds to reveal which tools are used by the four largest organizations and what they achieve. Surveys and investigations show the attitude of the public to the corruption climate in the country. The importance of cooperation between the organizations can then be traced to the information of the monitored organisations. The thesis focuses on the fact that activities within these organizations are interconnected, including particularly informing the public and criminal justice), education, efforts to change legislation, consulting, and investigative work and media coverage of corruption cases. Furthermore, the influence of these organizations on public life and political processes in the country (e.g. elections) cannot be doubted.
