Abstract:

Family businesses are integral to the growth and development of economies worldwide. In Tajikistan, family businesses play a vital role in contributing to the country's GDP growth and reducing unemployment rates. As such, it is important to understand how the state is fostering the development of family businesses and the SME sector. This thesis aims to analyse the significance of family businesses in Tajikistan and assess the extent to which the state is supporting their growth. The thesis explores and analyses the challenges and opportunities that family businesses face in Tajikistan, and how these businesses can be supported by the government and other stakeholders to promote economic prosperity and stability in the market. By shedding light on the importance of family businesses, this thesis will contribute to the ongoing discourse on economic development in Tajikistan and beyond.
