Fully electromagnetic ball valve with multiple coils

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem koncepce plně elektromagnetického aktuátoru pro kulový ventil. Aktuátor je realizován pomocí elektromagnetů rovnoměrně rozložených po obvodu koule kulového ventilu. Podle požadované polohy ventilu jsou pak elektromagnety sekvenčně spínány, přičemž dochází k přímému silovému působení elektromagnetického pole na magnetickou nerezovou kouli a k jejímu postupnému natáčení do žádané pozice. Aktuátor je tedy bezdotykový (neobsahuje mechanické části propojující aktuátor a kouli) a přímo řídí pozici koule. První část se zaměřuje na stručné uvedení do problematiky provedení různých druhů ventilů a způsobu jejich aktuace. Druhá část se zabývá shrnutím dosavadního postupu v oblasti návrhu aktuátoru. Ve třetí části je definován koncept aktuátoru a jeho princip. Čtvrtá část se věnuje tvorbě a výsledkům matematických modelů vycházejících z navržené koncepce. V poslední části je popsána výroba a experimentální ověření navržených prototypů.

Abstract:

The presented diploma thesis deals with the design of the concept of a fully electromagnetic actuator for a ball valve. The actuator consists of electromagnets evenly distributed around the circumference of the ball of the ball valve. According to the desired position of the valve, the electromagnets are sequentially switched, while the electromagnetic field exerts a direct force on the magnetic stainless steel ball and gradually rotates it to the desired position. The actuator is, therefore, non-contact (does not contain mechanical parts connecting the actuator with the ball) and directly controls the ball's position. The first part focuses on a brief introduction to the design of various types of valves and their actuation method. The second part deals with a summary of the current progress in the actuator design. In the third part, the actuator concept and its principle are defined. The fourth part is devoted to the creation and results of mathematical models based on the proposed concept. The last part describes the production and experimental verification of the designed prototypes.
