The reading comprehension of pupils of the the third year of elementary school

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na srovnání vlivu vyučovacích metod čtení, analyticko-syntetické a genetické, na úroveň čtení žáků 3. tříd a jejich čtenářskou gramotnost. Měření probíhalo ve dvou fázích, první na podzim 2019 a druhé na podzim roku 2020. Teoretická část práce se zaměřuje na vymezení pojmu čtenářská gramotnost, postavení čtenářské gramotnosti v rámci českých kurikulárních dokumentů a výzkumy, které se měřením čtenářské gramotnosti zabývají. Dále pak tato práce porovnává obě nejužívanější metody výuky čtení, které jsou předmětem praktické části této práce. Krátce se v závěru teoretické části zmíníme o klasifikaci chyb dle M. M. Clayové, kterou tato práce využívá. Praktická část se pak zaměřuje na vyhodnocení výsledků žákovských měření. Toto vyhodnocování se zaměřuje na jejich rychlost a plynulost čtení, množství chyb a oprav, které při svém čtenářském výkonu udělají, oční pohyby při čtení, a v neposlední řadě jejich čtenářskou gramotnost a schopnost analýzy textu. Závěrečná část této práce pak ještě okrajově zkoumá vliv volnočasového čtení na čtenářské kompetence.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on a comparison of main reading styles taught in Czech schools, analytic-synthetic and genetic, in terms of their influence on reading with comprehension skills of 3rdgrade pupils. The research was carried out in 2 parts, first in the fall of 2019, second in the fall of 2020. The theoretical part of this thesis aims at terms like reading literacy, status of reading literacy in the Czech curriculum and also international researches, which are interested in this topic. Next, this sheet compares two main reading styles taught in Czechia, which are the main interests of the empirical part. At the end of the theoretical part, we will briefly mention the classification of reading mistakes by M. M. Clay, which this sheet works with. The empirical part of this thesis focuses on the evaluation of research results. This evaluations main interest is how fast and smoothly pupils read, how many mistakes and corrections they made during their reading attempts, their eye movements and last but not least, their reading literacy and text analysis capability. The final part of this thesis also partially examines the influence of free time reading on reading competitions.
