Factors influencing fuels consumption in the Czech Republic and their impact on excise tax revenues

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá spotřebou benzinu a motorové nafty a inkasem spotřební daně z minerálních olejů v letech 2006-2016. Cílem práce je identifikovat faktory, které ovlivňují inkaso daně z minerálních olejů v České republice. První část práce je zaměřena na obecnou charakteristiku této daně a na popis faktorů, které působí na spotřebu benzinu a motorové nafty. Ve druhé části práce jsou s využitím korelační a regresní analýzy zjištěny dopady vybraných faktorů na spotřebu pohonných hmot a inkaso spotřební daně z minerálních olejů. Závěrečná část práce je věnována návrhům a doporučením, které mají přispět ke zvýšení daňového inkasa.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with petrol and gas oil consumption and the excise duty on mineral oils revenues in 2006-2016. The aim of the thesis is to identify the factors that influence the excise duty on mineral oils revenues in the Czech Republic. The first part is focused on general characteristics of this tax and provides a description of the factors that affect petrol and gas oil consumption. In the second part, a correlation and regression analysis is used to find out the impacts of the selected factors on fuel consumption and the excise duty on mineral oils revenues. The last part is devoted to suggestions and recommendations that should contribute to an increase of tax revenues.
