Maximum Flows by Incremental Breadth-First Search

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce algorithm of incremental breath first search witch solves maximal flow problem and create a study material suited for students. First part of the thesis explains the maximal flow problem, then it explains the incremental breadth-first search algorithm and also the Boykov and Kolmogorov algorithm witch is the base of the incremental breath first search. Algorithms are introduced through text, pseudocodes and illustrated examples. Second part of the thesis are implementations of both algorithms in Python. Last part of the thesis is a web app visualizing both algorithms.

Abstract:

Cieľom práce je zrozumiteĺne predstaviť algoritmus riešiaci problém maximálneho toku v sieti pomocou inkrementálneho prehľadávania do šírky a vytvoriť tak študijný materiál. Prvá časť práce obsahuje vysvetlenie problému maximálneho toku v sieti a ďalej predstavuje algoritmus inkrementálneho BFS a algoritmus Boykova a Kolmogorova, z ktorého tento vychádza, formou študijného textu, pseudokódov a ilustrovaných príkladov priebehov algoritmov. Druhou časťou práce je vzorová implementácia oboch algoritmov v jazyku Python. Poslednou časťou práce je webová aplikácia, slúžiaca na vizualizáciu priebehu oboch algoritmov.
