Evaluation of the level of knowledge in patients with type 2 diabetes - nutritional recommendations

Abstract:

Tato bakalářské práce se zabývá znalostmi nemocných s diabetem mellitem 2. typu v oblasti nutričních doporučení. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na onemocnění diabetes mellitus 2. typu, dělení diabetu mellitu, diagnostiku, komplikace a léčbu. Podrobněji jsou zde popsaná nutriční doporučení, edukace nemocných s diabetem mellitem 2. typu. Praktická část je zaměřená na hodnocení znalostí diabetiků v oblasti výživových doporučení, speciálních potravin pro diabetiky a příjmem tekutin a alkoholu. Sběr dat probíhal dotazníkovou formou. Dotazník byl vytvořen ve spolupráci se sestrou z diabetologické ambulance, provádějící edukaci pacientů. Na základě sesbíraných dat byla vyhodnocena úroveň znalostí respondentů v jednotlivých oblastech, ta byla v rozmezí 65-69 % hodnocena dle použité klasifikace jako dostatečná.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the knowledge of patients with type 2 diabetes mellite in the field of nutritional recommendations. The theoretical part focuses on the disease of type 2 diabetes mellitus, the division of diabetes mellitus, diagnosis, complications and treatment. The nutritional recommendations and education of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus are described in detail here. The practical part is focused on evaluating the knowledge of diabetics in the field of nutritional recommendations, special foods for diabetics and fluid and alcohol intake. Data collection took place in the form of a questionnaire. The questionnaires were created in collaboration with a nurse from a diabetology clinic providing patient education. Based on the collected data, the level of knowledge of the respondents in individual areas was evaluated, which was in the range of 65-69% evaluated as sufficient according to the classifications used.
