Audit of commercial banks

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku bankovního auditu, odpovědnosti, etice a následných žalobách ze strany bank na auditorské společnosti v souvislosti s nesprávně provedeným auditem. V první části jsou shrnuty základní teoretické poznatky o auditu, je-ho následné dělení na interní a externí audit, historický vývoj, právní rámec a auditorské mezinárodní standardy. V praktické části je práce cílena na mapování názorových proudů ohledně výkonů auditorů, kteří prováděli audit u bank, které po propuknutí finanční krize zbankrotovaly, nebo musely požádat o pomoc stát.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is concerned to issues of bank audit, responsibility, ethics and subsequent legal actions from banks against a audit firms related to incorrectly performs audit. In the first part of the thesis are summarized theoretical knowledge about an audit, it´s division into internal and external audit, historical development, legal frame and international standards of auditing. In the practical part the thesis is focused on mapping of ideological streams concerned to auditors who performed an audit for banks which, after outbreak of financial crisis, bankrupted or had to ask a state for help.
