The impact of e-reading on the text perception

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá procesem čtení elektronického textu a jeho vlivem na kognitivní a fyzické funkce člověka. Teoretická část práce definuje proces čtení a elektronický text. Dále se teoretická část věnuje vlivu elektronického čtení na fyzické a psychické zdraví člověka, přístup ke čtení, rychlost čtení, porozumění obsahu čteného textu, kognitivní učení a paměť. Praktickou část práce tvoří vzorek sta realizovaných výzkumů, které zkoumají fyziologické, kognitivní a behaviorální procesy při čtení elektronického textu. Prostřednictvím metaanalýzy jsou z výzkumů extrahována použitá metodologická data, která jsou následně analyzována a porovnána za užití komparativní analýzy s cílem zjistit, jaké se v současnosti využívají metody, postupy při výzkumu elektronického čtení.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the process of reading electronic text and its influence on human cognitive and physical function. The theoretical part gives a definition of reading process and electronic text. The theoretical part also deals with the impact of electronic reading on human physical and mental health, on attitude to reading, speed of reading, understanding the contents of the text, cognitive learning and memory. The practical part comprises sample of one hundred realized researches which explore the physiological, cognitive and behavioral processes during the reading of electronic text. Used methodological data are extracted from the research via meta-analysis, then analyzed and compared by using comparative analysis in order to know which methods and procedures are currently used to research electronic reading.
