Rostlina kurkumovník dlouhý (Curcuma longa) z čeledi Zingiberaceae pochází z jihovýchodní Asie. Je významná pro své unikátní složení. Usušený a namletý oddenek (tzv. kurkuma) obsahuje četné látky, z nichž významnější jsou po stránce biologických účinků fenolické látky – kurkuminoidy. The plant turmeric (Curcuma longa) of the Zingiberaceae family originates in Southeast Asia. It is known for its unique composition. Dried and milled rhizome (turmeric) contains many substances.
