Situation of prisoners in the prison Uherské Hradiště in years 1948 - 1953

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá situací politických vězňů v době komunistických procesů v letech 1948 – 1953, konkrétně vězni z nechvalně známé uherskohradišťské věznice. Práce se snaží zachytit podmínky, v nichž tamní vězni žili a také jak s nimi bylo zacházeno ze strany vyšetřovatelů Státní bezpečnosti. Na výpovědích nejen bývalých vězňů ale i vyšetřovatelů je toto zacházení popsáno. Jedním z cílů práce je zmapovat těžkou situaci uherskohradišťských vězňů v tamější věznici.

Abstract:

The submitter Bachelor thesis deals with the situation of political prisoners during the communist processes in the years 1948 – 1953, particularly prisoners in the infamous prison in Uherské Hradiště. The thesis tries to depict the conditions in whitch local prisoners lived, and how they were treated by the Czechoslovakian Secret police (Státní bezpečnost) investigators. This treatment is described on the basis of the testimonies of the former prisoners as well as the investigators. One of the goals of this work is to explore the difficult plight of prisoners in Uherské Hradiště.
