Abstract:

Cílem této práce je dokázat důležitost sebepoškozování a sebevražedných tendencí, které jsou přítomny v životech hlavních postav vybrané transgender fikce, a také zjistit, jak přesně tyto sebe-destruktivní činy ovlivňují životy těchto hrdinů. Práce se zaměřuje na tři rozdílné aspekty sebepoškozování a sebevražedných tendencí: důvody za těmito sebedestruktivními činy, jejich ukoncění a jejich role. Pro každou sekci jesou nalezeny společné rysy, které hlavní postavy sdílí. Tyto rysy jsou následně porovnány mezi postavami které je vykazují, a také s výzkumy které procují s těmito specifickými záležitostmi.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to prove the importance of the self-harm and suicide ideation present in the lives of the protagonist of the chosen transgender fiction, as well as to find how specifically does it affect their lives. The thesis looks at three different aspects of the self-harm and suicide ideation: the reasons, the resolution, and the role of the self-destructive acts. In each of the sections, commonalities are found among the main characters and then compared to each other as well as to studies dealing with the specific issues.
