Canistherapy in treatment of people with psychotic disorders

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Canisterapie při práci s lidmi s psychotickým onemocněním“ se zabývá vlivem canisterapie na cílovou skupinu v psychoterapeutickém procesu. V teoretické části práce se zabývá definicí canisterapie, jejími metodami a propojením se sociálními službami. Dále definuje, co to jsou psychotická onemocnění a jaký vliv mají poruchy spojené s nemocí vliv na klientovo myšlení, vůli, motivaci, či emoce. V třetí části teoretické části se práce zabývá vlivem canisterapie na klienty v psychoterapeutickém procesu, včetně praktických ukázek aktivit, které se s klienty dají provádět. Pro tuto práci byla zvolena kvalitativní výzkumná strategie, konkrétně polostrukturované rozhovory s klienty a triangulace pomocí odborníků - canisterapeutů. Z analýzy dat vyplynulo, že canisterapie má pozitivní vliv na klienty s psychotickým onemocněním jak v oblasti fyziologické, tak psychosociální. Konkrétně stimuluje tělesnou stránku klientů, dále prožívání, kognitivní funkce a sociální stránku klientů.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis „Canistherapy in treatment of people with psychotic disorders“ deals with the influence of animal assisted therapy to the target group in the psychotherapeutic process. The theoretical part deals with the definition of animal assisted therapy, methods and linking with social services. It also defines the notion of a psychotic illness and the influence of disorders associated with the disease affect the client's mind, will, motivation, and emotion . In the third part of the theoretical part of the thesis deals with the influence of animal assisted therapy for clients in the psychotherapeutic process, including practical examples of activities that clients can do. For this work was chosen a qualitative research strategy, namely semi-structured interviews with clients and professionals (called canistherapists) using triangulation. The analysis showed that animal assisted therapy has a positive impact on clients with psychotic disorders in both physiological and psychosocial. It stimulates physical side clients also experience cognitive function and social aspects of clients.
