Decomposition of selected biodegradable materials under real conditions of composting food waste

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje rozkladu vybraných biologicky rozložitelných materiálů v reálných podmínkách kompostování gastroodpadů. Literární část obsahuje obecnou charakteristiku odpadového hospodářství v České republice se zaměřením na základní pojmy, legislativu a statistická data. Dále obecnou charakteristiku plastů se zaměřením na biologicky rozložitelné plasty, a také procesu kompostování se zaměřením na kompostování gastroodpadů. Praktická část je rozdělena do tří částí – tří experimentů, během kterých je prováděn průzkum biologické rozložitelnosti tří druhů kelímků na horké nápoje v procesu kompostování dle normy ČSN EN 14806. První část probíhá po dobu dvanácti týdnů v laboratorních podmínkách. Druhá část probíhá v elektrickém kompostéru Green Good 02 (GG02) po dobu 14 dní pro každý jednotlivý vzorek. Třetí část obsahuje doplňující průzkum, zaměřený na rozklad vzorků v potravinovém odpadu.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the decomposition of selected biodegradable materials under real conditions of composting food waste. The literature review provides a general overview of waste management in the Czech Republic, focusing on basic concepts, legislation, and statistical data. It also includes a general characterization of plastics, with an emphasis on biodegradable plastics, and the composting process, specifically targeting composting of food waste. The practical part is divided into three sections – three experiments, during which the biodegradability of three types of hot beverage cups is examined in the composting process according to the standard ČSN EN 14806. The first part takes place over twelve weeks under laboratory conditions. The second part occurs in the electric composter Green Good 02 (GG02) for 14 days for each individual sample. The third part involves additional research focused on the decomposition of samples in food waste.
