Chinese Foreign Policy Towards the Developing Countries

Abstract:

Práce si klade primárně za cíl analyzovat zahraniční politiku Čínské lidové republiky ve vztahu k rozvojovým zemím. Z důvodu obsáhlosti tématu byly vybrány čtyři rozvojové země, u nichž budeme zkoumat povahu čínské zahraniční politiky: Venezuela, Írán, Nigérie a Súdán. Sledovat budeme různé dimenze bilaterálních vztahů, například ekonomickou dimenzi nebo vojenskou spolupráci. Rovněž budeme zkoumat motivy čínské zahraniční politiky.Práce je časově vymezena na období od konce 80. let minulého století, neboť od té doby dochází k postupným změnám zahraničně-politického kurzu Pekingu a také k výraznému pronikání Číny do rozvojového světa. Pro lepší pochopení celé problematiky se bude část práce věnovat vývoji politického systému Čínské lidové republiky od roku 1949. Jako adekvátní metodu použijeme analýzu, dále bude použit komparativní přístup, zejména pro srovnání čínské zahraniční politiky k vybraným zemím rozvojového světa.

Abstract:

The primary objective of this thesis is to analyze the foreign policy of the People’s Republic of China towards the developing countries. Because of a huge comprehensiveness of selected topic, four countries were chosen to study the nature of Chinese foreign policy: Venezuela, Iran, Nigeria and Sudan. We are going to follow different levels of bilateral relations, for instance the economic dimension or military partnership. We are also going to examine the intentions of Chinese foreign policy. The time span of this thesis begins at the end of 1980’s as it is the time of gradual changes in Beijing economic and political heading and also time of a distinctive increase in Chinese involvement in the third world countries. A part of this thesis will also focus on the evolvement in the political system of the People’s Republic of China since 1949 to ease the understanding of the whole topic. The analysis is applied as an appropriate method. Comparative approach is used to compare the Chinese foreign policy attitude towards the selected countries.
