Social Issues in the Franco-Belgian Comics in the 1980's and 1990's of the 20th Century

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the Franco-Belgian comics in the 1980's and 1990's of the 20th century. The aim was to describe the phenomenon of comics in these two countries. Then on the basis of research to discover and prove whether it is possible to discover in the works of this time any references to events in the society and social issues. The main objectives are set out in the introduction. The first part is dedicated to the development of comics before the 1980's in order to show the relations and influences between these countries during the development. The two key parts of the work deal with the actual development in these next two decades. The last part contains the actual analysis of selected works, with links to the real situation in the society. Research results and the main issues that were found in these works are presented in the conclusion.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem francouzsko-belgického komiksu v 80. a 90. letech 20. století. Cílem bylo osvětlit toto období i problematiku komiksu a následně na základě výzkumu objevit a dokázat, zda se v dílech z této doby objevují také společenská témata a odkazy na dění ve společnosti. Tyto hlavní cíle jsou stanoveny v úvodu. Pro bližší uvedení vztahů a souvislostí je v první části nejprve uveden i vývoj komiksu od počátků až do 80. let. Ve dvou stěžejních částech se práce zabývá samotným vývojem v těchto dvou desetiletích. Poslední část obsahuje samotné analýzy vybraných děl s odkazy na skutečné reálie těchto dvou zemí. Výsledky výzkumu a hlavní otázky, které byly v těchto dílech nalezeny, jsou uvedeny v závěru práce.
