Kumulace syntetických barviv v průmyslových odpadních vodách působí velké problémy našemu ţivotnímu prostředí a tak se jejich degradace stává v posledních letech jedním z bodů zájmu. Bylo zjištěno, ţe některé houby bílé hniloby jsou schopny ? díky svým extracelulárním ligninolytickým enzymům ? efektivně odbourávat, mimo jiné, také tyto organopolutanty.
