Concept maps in physics teaching

Abstract:

Master thesis is concerned with using concept maps in a school environment. It researches dependency between level of creation management while assigning the concept map and extent of achieved points and popularity among the sixth- and ninth-year students at a primary school. Theoretical part of the thesis defines technique of the concept mapping as one of mental mapping techniques, describes historical connections of mental mapping development, use of concept maps in school practice and their assessment. Practical part consists of 10 concept maps with a different level of creation managing, their characteristics and assessment. Next there are results of two questionnaires investigating and focusing on mapping of students´ knowledge about concept mapping before study has started, and findings about popularity of individual concept maps after their completion.

Abstract:

Práca sa zaoberá využitím pojmových máp v školskom prostredí. Skúma závislosť medzi stupňom riadenia tvorby pri zadávaní pojmovej mapy a miery dostihnutých bodov a obľúbenosti u žiakov 6. a 9. ročníka základnej školy. Teoretická časť práce vymedzuje techniku pojmového mapovania ako jednu z techník mentálneho mapovania, popisuje historické súvislosti vývoja mentálneho mapovania, využitie pojmových máp v školskej praxi a ich hodnotenie. Praktická časť práce obsahuje 10 pojmových máp s rôznim stupňom riadenia tvorby, ich charakteristiku a hodnotenie, ďalej výsledky dvoch dotazníkových šetrení zameraných na zmapovanie povedomia žiakov o pojmových mapách pred začiatkom štúdie a zistenie žiackej obľúbenosti jednotlivých pojmových máp po ich vypracovaní.
