Population awareness of aspects of teeth whitening

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on public awareness in the aspects of teeth whitening. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with general information about the history of teeth whitening and natural tooth color. It explains the causes of tooth discoloration and the possibilities of their eventual removal. It also describes the mechanism and individual options for teeth whitening. Separate chapters also deal with the contraindications or side effects that teeth whitening may cause. The chapters at the end of the theoretical part deal with freely available teeth whitening products and related issues. The practical part consists of a questionnaire for the general public. The questions focused on the population's knowledge, assumptions and personal experiences regarding teeth whitening. Subsequently, the data analysis was processed using a graphical display. The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to find out the population's interest in the possibility of teeth whitening, as well as their level of information and experience on the topic. To find out whether the public is more often looking for freely available teeth whitening products, or prefers to turn to experts.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zameriava na informovanosť verejnosti v aspektoch bielenia zubov. Práca je rozdelená na teoretickú a praktickú časť. Teoretická časť sa zaoberá všeobecnými informáciami ohľadne histórie bielenia zubov a prirodzenej farby zubov. Objasňuje príčiny diskolorácií zubov a vysvetľuje možnosti ich prípadného odstránenia. Ďalej popisuje mechanizmus a jednotlivé možnosti bielenia zubov. Samostatné kapitoly sa venujú aj kontraindikáciám či nežiadúcim účinkom, ktoré bielenie zubov môže eventuálne spôsobiť. V závere teoretickej časti sú kapitoly zaoberajúce sa voľne dostupnými produktami na bielenie zubov a ich problematikou. Praktická časť sa skladá z dotazníka pre širokú verejnosť. Otázky boli zamerané na vedomosti, domnienky a osobné skúsenosti populácie ohľadne bielenia zubov. Následne bola spracovaná analýza dát pomocou grafického zobrazenia. Cieľom bakalárskej práce bolo zistiť záujem populácie o možnosť bielenia zubov, zároveň ich mieru informovanosti a skúsenosti na danú tému. Odhaliť, či verejnosť častejšie vyhľadáva voľne dostupné produkty na bielenie zubov, alebo sa radšej obracia na odborníkov.
