Transit and protection of the State Border in the High and Late Middle Ages. Archeological evidences in the Moravian-Hungarian border and border areas.

Abstract:

Studie se zaměřuje na pohraniční území, confinia, ve 13. a první polovině 14. století. Při vzniku a vývoji panství a kolonizaci prostoru je kladen důraz na prostor vymezený řekami Moravou a Olšavou a pohořím Bílé Karpaty, severní část confinia/Lucko. Představuje podobu středověké hranice v Evropě a poukazuje na charakter pohraniční oblasti mezi Moravou a Uherskem. Pro hodnocení vojenského zajištění pohraniční oblasti je podstatný vznik opevněných sídel a z hlediska definice vývojové strategie je z vojenského hlediska důležitý také postup kolonizace, s čím se pojí formování panství, která vlastní nejdříve panovník a později rody Hont-Poznanovců, Tvrdišovců, Vítkovců, Hrabišiců, Pánů ze Zbraslavi, Pánů z Kravař, Pánů z Lipé a další. Konfrontací písemných, archeologických a literárních pramenů je analyzován postup a následky nejvýraznějších vpádů provedených Uherským královstvím.

Abstract:

The study focuses on border area of confinium in the 13th and the 1st half of 14th century. During the origin and development of a domain the area delimited by the rivers Morava and Olšava and by White Carpathians mountains, northern part of confinium/Lucko is emphasized. It represents the shape of medieval border in Europe and illustrates the character of the border area between Morava and Hungary. The development of fortified settlements is important for the assessment of military security of the border area and from the point of view of a definition of developmental strategy the advancement of colonization is important. It is connected formation of domains first owned by a sovereign and then by the families of Hont-Poznanovci, Tvrdišovci, Vítkovci, Hrabišici, Lords of Zbraslav, Lords of Kravaře, Lords of Lipé and others. The advance and consequences of the most significant campaigns in Moravia of the Hungarian kingdom are analysed by confrontation of the written, archaeological and literal sources.
