Experiencing distance and face-to-face teaching at secondary school in 2020 – 2023

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce řeší prožívání distanční online výuky a po-pandemické prezenční výuky v konkrétní maturitní třídě. Cílem práce je to, jak maturanti zastupující konkrétní třídu a jejich třídní prožívají výuku během let 2020 až 2023 na střední škole s ohledem na přípravu na maturitní zkoušku v roce 2023. Pro dosažení stanoveného cíle jsem použila metodu případové studie kvalitativního výzkumu s polostrukturovanými rozhovory s respondenty. Analýzu sesbíraných dat jsem vyhodnocovala technikou otevřeného kódování v rámci analytické zakotvené teorie. Provedeným výzkumem jsem zjistila, že podle studentek jazyk český a literatura byl jediný efektivně online vyučovaný předmět, protože se soustředily a znalosti si zapamatovaly. Největší ztrátou přestavovaly znalosti a středoškolský život. Znalosti doplnily samostudiem a disciplínou k učení. Dále jsem zjistila, že po-pandemická prezenční výuka se nedigitalizovala, přesto občas pracují v MS Teams. Před maturitní zkouškou mají pocit, že nic neumí. Další distanční online výuku na střední škole nedoporučují. Podle třídní studentům na střední škole chybí vztahy s vrstevníky více než studium. Zdali vyučovala distančně opravdu dobře, zjistí až z výsledků maturitní zkoušky. Hlavním zjištěným výsledkem je pocit, že nejsou dostatečně připraveny na maturitní zkoušku.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the experience of distance online teaching and after-pandemic face-to-face teaching in a specific graduation class. The aim of the thesis is how high school graduates representing a specific class and their classmates experience teaching during the years 2020 to 2023 at the secondary school with regard to preparation for the matriculation exam in 2023. To achieve the set goal, I used the case study method of qualitative research with semi-structured interviews with respondents. I evaluated the analysis of the collected data using the open coding technique within the analytical grounded theory. Through my research, I found out that according to female students, school subject Czech language and literature was the only subject taught effectively online, because they concentrated and memorized the knowledge. The biggest loss was knowledge and high school life. They supplemented their knowledge with self-study and discipline to learn. I also found out that after-pandemic face-to-face teaching has not been digitized, yet they sometimes work in MS Teams. Before the matriculation exam, they feel that they do not know anything. They do not recommend further distance online education in high school. According to the teacher, high school students miss peer relationships more than studies. Whether she taught distance learning really well, she will only find out from the results of the matriculation exam. The main result found is the feeling that they are not sufficiently prepared for the matriculation exam.
