Russian-Japan Disputation About Southern Kuriles in Context of Their Economic Development

Abstract:

Tématem této vědecké práce je územní spor mezi Ruskem a Japonskem o vlastnictví Jižních Kurilských ostrovů. Důvodem pro studium této otázky je, že v posledních letech roste zájem vědecké komunity a politické elity o téma Jižních Kurilských ostrovů a probíhají jednání o oboustranně výhodném řešení územního sporu. Hlavní kapitoly práce jsou rozděleny do několika částí: metodologická část, teoretický základ (sporné území, metody řešení územního sporu, teoretické možnosti řešení sporných území) a historické aspekty problému. Teoretická studie byla provedena metodou analýzy a syntézy literatury, různých publikací v médiích a regulačních zdrojů. Historické aspekty problému jsou plně brány v úvahu. Práce upozorňuje na postavení států a současnou situaci mezi nimi.

Abstract:

This the object of scientific work is the territorial dispute between Russia and Japan about the ownership of the South Kuril Islands. The reason for studying this topic is fact that in recent years the interest of the scientific community and the political elite in the topic of the South Kuril Islands has been growing, and negotiations about mutually beneficial solution to the territorial dispute are underway. The main chapters of the work are divided into several sections: the methodological part, the theoretical basis (disputed territory, methods for resolving a territorial dispute, theoretical options for resolving disputed territories), and historical aspects of the issue. A theoretical study was carried out by the method of analysis and synthesis of literature, various publications in the media, regulatory sources. The historical aspects of the problem are considered fully. The work highlights the positions of states and the current situation between them.
