Couple’s perception of sexuality after birth

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu vnímání sexuality páru po porodu. U jedenácti párů mapuje jejich vzájemný pohled na sexuální vztah po porodu a zároveň zkoumá případné rozdíly v individuálním hodnocení vlastní sexuality. Zaměřuje se také na související faktory ovlivňující negativní změnu ve vnímání sexuality. V rámci výzkumu se práce věnuje výskytu dyspareunie u žen a její souvislosti s porodním poraněním, nebo i četnosti výskytu prvního pohlavního styku až po ukončeném šestinedělí. Kromě všech zmíněných aspektů práce nabízí pohled do sexuálního vztahu daných jedenácti párů v nové roli rodičů. Teoretická část obsahuje kapitoly o lidské sexualitě, důležitosti intimity v partnerském vztahu, fyziologii porodu, jsou popsány základní porodnické operace, průběh šestinedělí včetně kojení. Výzkum vnímání sexuality páru po porodu poukazuje na důležitost edukace české společnosti v tomto tabuizovaném tématu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the topic of couple’s perception of sexuality after birth. At eleven couples, it maps their mutual view of sexual relationship after childbirth, and at the same time explores potential differences in individual assessment of one's own sexuality. It also focuses on the relevant factors influencing the negative change in perception of sexuality. The research focuses on the occurrence of dyspareunia in women and its connection with the birth injuries or the frequency of the first sexual intercourse after the end of the puerperium. In addition to all the above-mentioned aspects of this paper, it presents the view of the sexual relationship of the eleven couples in their new role as parents. The theoretical part contains chapters on human sexuality, the importance of intimacy in the relationship, the physiology of childbirth, basic obstetrics operations, the course of the puerperium including breastfeeding. Research on the perception of postpartum sexuality points to the importance of the education of Czech society in this taboo topic.
