In this bachelor thesis I present the reader with the African region of the Sahel. The main objective is to characterize the region's position in the international space, focusing on its political and regional role within a selected regional concept. Hlavným cieľom je chrakterizovať postavenie oblasti v medzinárodnom priestore so zameraním na jeho politickú a regionálnu úlohu v rámci vybraného regionálneho konceptu.
