Abstract:

Tématem mé bakalářské práce je reflexe na uznávaného umělce respektive jeho dílo. Inspirací se mi stala v první řadě vizuální stránka kultovního filmu 2001: Vesmírná Odysea v režii mého oblíbeného režiséra a scénáristy Stanleyho Kubricka. V teoretické části jsem nastínila důvod své volby, představu, kterou chci naplnit. Zároveň se snažím popsat proces tvorby v jednotlivých etapách vývoje, jistý posun k jednodušším tvarům a formě oděvu. Praktická část začíná skicami volně interpretujícími dané téma. Tato představa postupně nazrává do stadia, kdy jsou rozkreslené modely v barevných variacích. Poté je potřeba ujasnit si technologický postup, vyrobit střihy a zkoušet v pracovním materiálu. Až potom lze přistoupit k vlastní výrobě modelu.Vybrala jsem z náčrtů tři modely, které nejlépe vystihují mou představu, získanou z důkladné rešerše tématu a celkového procesu přípravy. Nosným bodem celé kolekce je pocit čistoty - v barevnosti, v provedení a materiálech. Materiály jsem vzhledem k tématu volila spíše syntetické, barevnost modelů sahá od bílé přes krémovou ke zlatu a bronzu. Dále jsem se zaměřila na linii ženského těla a podtržení ženství v kontrastu se sterilním prostředím vesmírné lodi v některých scénách filmu. Tato kolekce primárně není určená k běžnému nošení, ačkoli některé části modelů jsou velice dobře nositelné a vhodné pro různé společenské aktivity. Už v průběhu tvorby jsem zaznamenala kladné odezvy na úpletové šaty prvního modelu. Se svou bakalářskou prací jsem, i přes některé technické nedostatky, které vznikly v důsledku časové tísně, celkem spokojena. Doufám, že má práce, celkový styling a fotografie zaujmou i toho, kdo světu science-fiction neholduje. Mé chápání Cubrickova filmu a zároveň sdílení by mohlo být - fantazie je nekonečná a také: konec je zároveň začátek.

Abstract:

The subject of my bachelor's thesis is a reflection on the work by a well-known artist. I drew my inspiration primarily from the visual aspect of the cult classic 2001: A Space Odyssey, directed by my favourite film director and screenwriter, Stanley Kubrick. The theoretical part outlines the reasons of my choice and the idea I would like to accomplish. At the same time, I aim to describe the design process, individual stages of its development, and a certain shift towards simplified shapes and forms of garments. Sketches in the opening section of the practical part are free interpretations of the given theme. The idea gradually takes shape, reaching the stage when the models are drawn in different colour variations. The next step is clarification of the technological process, pattern-cutting and sewing in alternative fabric to run a preliminary test on the pattern. Only then it is possible to proceed to the proper production of the model. From a variety of sketches, I chose three models which most precisely depict my idea obtained from thorough research and overall preparation process. The collection centers on a sense of purity ? in the colour range, design and materials. Due to the character of the topic, I opted largely for synthetic fabrics; colours range from white to gold and bronze. The focus is on the outline of female body, accentuation of femininity as opposed to the sterile environment of the spaceship in several film scenes. The collection is not designed for casual wearing, although some parts of the models are very wearable and suitable for different social activities and occasions. While working on the design, I have already received some positive response on the knitwear dress of the first model. I hope that even those who are not science-fiction fans will find my work, overall styling and photographs interesting. Perhaps my understanding as well as sharing of Kubrick´s film could be conveyed by saying that fantasy has no limits, and with every end there is a new beginning.
