Verification of psychometric properties of the ITQ questionnaire

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce se zabývá ověřování psychometrických vlastností české verze dotazníkové baterie Insomnia Type Questionnaire (ITQ), která rozřazuje pacienty s insomnií na základě jejich příslušnosti k jednomu ze subtypů. Výzkum byl administrován na počtu 1051 zkoumaných osob, které vyplňovaly dotazník ITQ online. Získané proměnné byly následně zařazeny do shlukové analýzy, která ukázala na přítomnost pěti různých subtypů insomnie, které byly převážně ekvivalentní se subtypy v původním výzkumu. Výzkum dále z různých hledisek sleduje vztahy předspánkového arousalu, úzkosti a insomnie. Výsledky naznačovaly, že předspánkový arousal částečně zprostředkovával vztah mezi úzkostí a závažností insomnie. Byly pozorovány těsné vztahy mezi kognitivním arousalem a insomnií, a zároveň mezi somatickým arousalem a úzkostí. Výzkum se zabývá také vztahy deprese, insomnie a únavnosti, kde se deprese ukázala být mediátorem vztahu mezi únavností a závažností insomnie. Nakonec se tento výzkum zabývá souvislostmi mezi systémem behaviorální aktivace a insomnií. Mezi těmito dvěma proměnnými se neprojevil statisticky významný vztah. Výsledky naznačovaly pozitivní vztah behaviorální aktivace, předspánkového arousalu a neuroticismu. Naopak negativní těsný vztah byl pozorován mezi behaviorální aktivací a extraverzí. Tato diplomová práce vznikla v rámci projektu MUNI/A/1310/2020 Ověření psychometrických vlastností diagnostických nástrojů pro screening spánku.

Abstract:

The main goal of this study was to verify psychometric properties of the Czech version of the Insomnia Type Questionnaire (ITQ), which classifies insomnia patients on the basis of their affiliation to an insomnia subtype. The research sample consisted of 1051 participants who completed ITQ online. The obtained variables were included in the cluster analysis, which showed the presence of five different insomnia subtypes. The subtypes were largely equivalent to the subtypes in the original research. This paper also studies the relationships between pre-sleep arousal, anxiety and insomnia from various perspectives. The results suggested that pre-sleep arousal partially mediated the relationship between anxiety and the insomnia severity. Close positive relationships between cognitive arousal and insomnia severity, as well as somatic arousal and anxiety, have been observed. The research also examines the relationship between depression, insomnia and fatigue, where depression has been shown to mediate the relationship between fatigue and the insomnia severity. Finally, the research describes the relationship between the behavioural activation system and insomnia. There was no statistically significant relationship between these two variables observed. The results indicated a positive relationship between behavioural activation, pre-sleep arousal and neuroticism. On the contrary, a negative close relationship might be present between behavioural activation and extraversion. This study was created within the project MUNI / A / 1310/2020 Verification of psychometric properties of diagnostic tools for screening of sleep.
