Latvian Directors Mara Kimele and Alvis Hermanis - European Theater Personalities

Abstract:

Diploma thesis " " Latvian Directors Māra Ķimele and Alvis Hermanis - European Theater Personalities " describes history and contemporary theatre in Latvia with focus on director Alvis Hermanis and his performances from 1987 till 2010. Thesis is also giving a picture about woman director and profesor Māra Ķimele and about stage designer Monika Inese Pormale. All three artists are main theatremakers in New Riga theatre. Thesis analyzes Alvis Hermanis performance Sound of silence, from the view of staging a historical memory.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca „ Lotyšskí režiséri Māra Ķimele a Alvis Hermanis - Evropské divadelní osobnosti “ popisuje históriu a súčasnosť profesionálneho lotyšského divadla. Zameriava sa na réžijnú tvorbu Alvisa Hermanisa v rokoch 1987 až 2010. Ďalej práca poskytuje obraz o režisérke a profesorke réžie Māre Ķimele a scénografke Monike Inese Pormale. Všetci traja umelci sú kmeňovými divadelníkmi Nového Rižského divadla. Práca analyzuje autorskú insenáciu Alvisa Hermanisa, Sound of Silence, a to z hľadiska stvárňovania historickej pamäte.
