The transformation of the industrial part in the Lower Area of Vitkovice into a cultural object

Abstract:

Tato práce popisuje restrukturalizaci chátrající a nevyužité průmyslové oblasti poblíž centra Ostravy ve Vítkovicích na kulturní objekt. Je zaměřena na popis objektů, které zde byly transformovány nebo nově vybudovány a na jejich využití. Dále na zdroje financování a marketing objektů v Dolní oblasti Vítkovic. Pro komparaci Dolní oblasti Vítkovic s obdobným objektem v zahraničí, je zvolena oblast Völklinger Hütte v Německu, která také prošla přeměněnou z bývalé průmyslové oblasti na kulturní objekt. Cílem této práce je popsat přeměnu Dolní oblasti Vítkovic na kulturní oblast, využití nově přeměněných objektů a komparace s Völklinger Hütte v Německu. Přínosem této práce je ukázat, že lze z nevyužitých průmyslových oblastí vytvořit využívané kulturní objekty a že tyto restrukturalizace probíhají i v Německu.

Abstract:

This thesis describes the restructuring of dilapidated and unused industrial area on to the cultural object located near the center of Ostrava Vitkovice. It is focused on the description of these transformed or newly constructed area and the ways of it?s use. It also focuses on financial resources marketing plan of the objects in Vitkovice Lower Area. The Vitkovice Lower Area is compared with a similar object abroad - Völklinger Hütte in Germany ? a former industrial area which was also transformed on to the cultural object. Lastly, the contribution of this thesis is to demonstrate that the cultural objects can be created from unused industrial areas and that these restructurings take place in Germany as well.
