Development of lexical-semantic level of the speech for Children with Down Syndrom

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with development of lexical-semantic level of the speech for Children with Down syndrome. The bachelor´s thesis is divided into three parts, two of them are theoretical, the third contains research. The first chapter deals with theoretical background - Down syndrome, etiology and symptomatology of this syndrome. Second chapter is concerned with communication, explaining important concepts like ontogenetic development and levels of speech in ontogenetic development of healthy individuals and of children with Down syndrome. It also describes different types of speech disorders of individuals with Down syndrome. The aim of the empiric part is to create set of pictures suitable for target group and by means of the case studies to find out the process of analysis and development of clients with Down syndrome vocabulary. In research part of the bachelor´s thesis qualitative methods are used. It contains case reports of four clients from Special pedagogic centre and description of their vocabulary development. Methods and techniques used during composing, characteristics of place of the research itself and research sample and course of proper research are introduced there. The conclusion is devoted to the results of the survey which show the efficiency of created pictures materials for vocabulary development of children with Down syndrome.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá rozvojom lexikálno- sémantickej roviny reči u detí s Downovým syndrómom. Bakalárska práca je členená do troch kapitol, z ktorých sú dve teoretické, a tretia kapitola obsahuje výskumný projekt. Prvá kapitola sa venuje teoretickým východiskám - Downovému syndrómu, etiológii a symptomatológii tohto syndrómu. Druhá kapitola je venovaná komunikácii. Vysvetľuje dôležité pojmy ako ontogenetický vývoj a roviny reči v ontogenetickom vývoji u zdravých jedincov a detí s Downovým syndrómom. V tejto kapitole sú tiež charakterizované jednotlivé druhy narušenej komunikačnej schopnosti detí s Downovým syndrómom. Cieľom empirickej časti práce bolo vytvorenie súboru obrázkov, vhodného pre cieľovú skupinu a prostredníctvom prípadových štúdií zachytiť priebeh analýzy a rozvoja slovnej zásoby klientov s Downovým syndrómom. Výskumná časť bakalárskej práce má charakter kvalitatívneho výskumu a obsahuje kazuistiky štyroch klientov Centra špeciálno- pedagogického poradenstva a popis rozvoja ich slovnej zásoby. Sú tu uvedené použité metódy a techniky pri spracovaní charakteristiky miesta šetrenia a výskumnej vzorky ako aj priebeh vlastného šetrenia. Záver práce je venovaný výsledkom výskumného šetrenia, ktoré poukazujú na efektivitu vytvorených materiálov slúžiacich rozvoju slovnej zásoby detí s Downovým syndrómom.
