Hungarian musical emigration in the 20th century

Abstract:

Práce je komplexním pohledem na významný fenomén maďarské hudební kultury. Zaměřuje se na hudební emigraci, která spoluutvářela evropskou i světovou hudební kulturu. V centru pozornosti jsou tři významní původem maďarští dirigenti: George Szell, Eugene Ormandy a George Solti. Všichni se velmi významně zasloužili o formování předválečné a zejména poválečné dirigentské školy a podstatnou měrou zasáhli do interpretace děl světových autorů klasické hudby. Všichni tři stáli v čele světových symfonických orchestrů a podíleli se na formování nového interpretačního stylu. Práce poukazuje na specifika jejich tvorby, dirigentského umění, uvádí důležité nahrávky.

Abstract:

The work is a comprehensive overview of the important phenomenon of Hungarian musical culture. It focuses on musical emigration that co-created European and world music culture. In the center of attention are the three leading Hungarian conductors: George Szell, Eugene Ormandy and George Solti. All of them have greatly contributed to the formation of the pre-war and post-war conducting school, and have played a major role in the interpretation of the works of the world's authors of classical music. All three of them were at the forefront of world symphonic orchestras and participated in the formation of a new interpretation style. The work highlights the specifics of their work, conducting art, and presents important recordings.
