The role and use of lean management in the implementation of digitalization in a manufacturing company

Abstract:

Mnoho společností používá ke zlepšení svých procesů různé filozofie nebo jejich kombinace a s tím, jak se svět mění, se implementace technologických nástrojů stává každodenní záležitostí. V posledních dvou desetiletích došlo k extrémnímu nárůstu využívání nejnovějších technologií ve výrobě. Proto je cílem diplomové práce odpovědět na otázku, zdali štíhlé řízení usnadňuje zavádění digitálních prvků ve výrobě. V teoretické části práce popisuje problematiku štíhlého řízení a digitalizace v dnešní době. Následující kapitola popisuje metody, kterými se autor dostává ke zjištěním, která jsou nadále v práci využívána. Praktická část diplomové práce obsahuje dva cykly DMAIC, které v návaznosti na teoretickou část popisují, měří a analyzují sledovaný proces. V případě obou cyklů dochází k navržení zlepšení, která jsou následně implementována. Pro zajištění správného fungování implementovaných zlepšení je navržen systém kontroly. V závěru práce dochází ke kritické diskusi k problematice vztahu štíhlého řízení a digitalizace. Práce také navrhuje možné digitalizační prvky, pro které je dle dostupných informací výrobní proces připraven.

Abstract:

Many companies use different philosophies or combinations of philosophies to improve their processes, and as the world changes, implementing technology tools is becoming an everyday occurrence. The last two decades have seen an extreme increase in the use of the latest technology in manufacturing. Therefore, the aim of the thesis is to answer the question whether lean management facilitates the implementation of digital elements in production. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the issues of lean management and digitalization today. The following chapter describes the methods used by the author to reach the findings, which continue to be used in the thesis. The practical part of the thesis contains two DMAIC cycles that, following the theoretical part, describe, measure and analyze the process studied. In the case of both cycles, improvements are suggested and subsequently implemented. A control system is proposed to ensure the correct functioning of the implemented improvements. The thesis concludes with a critical discussion of the relationship between lean management and digitalization. The thesis also proposes possible digitalization elements for which, according to the available information, the production process is ready.
