Abstract:

Diplomová práce Zastoupení postav s postižením v anglicky psané dětské literatuře se zabývá zobrazením různých typů postižení v literatuře pro děti a mládež psané anglicky. Teoretická část se zabývá definicí postižení a pojednává o dětech s postižením v širším kontextu. Dále je představena dětská literatura a její vývoj, se zaměřením na téma postižení objevující se v literatuře. Praktická část je zaměřena na analýzu knih The Secret Garden (Tajná zahrada) (1911), I Can Jump Puddles (Už zase skáču přes kaluže) (1955), Big Ben (1998), Face (1999) a The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (Podivný případ se psem)(2003). Analýza se opírá o poznatky ze sekundární literatury zabývající se jak literaturou, tak i speciální pedagogikou.

Abstract:

The thesis Representation of Characters with Disabilities in Children’s Literature in English deals with portraying different forms of disability in children’s literature and in literature for young readers written in English. The theoretical part provides the definition of disability and presents children with disabilities in a broader context. The next issue is children’s literature and its development with the focus on presenting disability in literature. The practical part is focused on analysis of the following stories The Secret Garden (1911), I Can Jump Puddles (1955), Big Ben (1998), Face (1999) and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2003). The analysis is supported by secondary literature from literary and special educational sphere.
