Language variations used in Gay communities

Abstract:

The presented thesis focuses on the language variations used in gay communities. To specify, it is devoted to the word-formation processes involved in the formation of words in the slang of gay community. The theoretical part describes slang and thoroughly defines the word-formation processes with the semantic changes relevant to the data collected. Lastly it describes the gay community from the sociolinguistics viewpoint and presents their sociolect. The analytical part studies the word-formation processes occurring in the data with its examples and classifications. The aim of this work is to analyse the word-formation processes relevant to the slang term and define the frequency of usage.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářské práce se zabývá jazykovými variety v gay komunitách. Přesněji slovotvornými procesy, které se podílejí na vytváření nových slangových výrazů používaných v gay komunitě. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na popis slangu a podrobně definuje slovotvorné procesy a sémantické změny relevantní k nasbíraným slangovým slovům. Dále se věnuje gay komunitě z hlediska sociolingvistiky a sociolektu. Analytická část této práce zkoumá slovotvorné procesy, které jsou zastoupené v nasbíraných datech spolu s příklady ze slangových výrazů. Cílem této práce je zanalyzovat slovotvorné procesy, které se podílely na vytvoření slangových lexémů z korpusu a definovat nejčastěji používané procesy.
