Influence of tyre age on braking distance and directional stability

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analyzováním změn vlastností pneumatik vlivem stárnutí, a tím jak toto stárnutí ovlivňuje brzdnou dráhu a směrovou stabilitu vozidla. V teoretické části práce jsou popsány faktory ovlivňující brzdnou dráhu a směrovou stabilitu vozidla, dále pak konstrukční a materiálové složení pneumatik a v neposlední řadě je zde popsáno stárnutí pneumatik, příčiny jeho stárnutí a možnosti, jak mu předcházet. V praktické části práce je popsáno měření brzdné dráhy a směrové stability vozidla pro čtyři různé sady pneumatik. V závěru práce jsou prezentovány výsledky a doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

This Master's thesis deals with the analysis of changes in the properties of tyres due to aging, and their effect on the braking distance and directional stability of a vehicle. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the factors affecting the braking distance and directional stability of a vehicle, as well as design and the material composition of tyres. It also examines the aging of tyres, the causes of aging and ways how to prevent it. The practical part of the thesis illus-trates the measurements of braking distance and directional stability of the vehicle for four different sets of tyres. In conclusion, the results and recommendations for practice are pre-sented.
