Vaccination against pneumococcus in the pediatric population

Abstract:

Pneumokok Streptococcus pneumoniae je grampozitivní, nesporulující bakterie, která je původce závažných invazivních pneumokokových onemocnění, které i přes možnosti očkování mají stále vysoký výskyt. Teoretická část této diplomové práce se věnuje popisu tohoto původce, patogenezi, klinickému obrazu, terapii, prevenci a epidemiologické situaci. Praktická část má za úkol popsat epidemiologickou situaci v Moravskoslezském kraji za období 2005-2014. Dále prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření zjistit informovanost těhotných žen o pneumokokových nemocech a možnosti očkování proti nim.

Abstract:

Pneumococcus Streptococcus pneumoniae is a Gram-positive, sporulating bacterium that is the causative agent of severe invasive pneumococcal disease, which, despite the possibility of vaccination still have high incidence. The theoretical part of this thesis is devoted to description of this agent, pathogenesis, clinical picture, therapy, prevention and epidemiology. The practical part is to describe the epidemiological situation in the Moravian-Silesian region for the period 2005-2014. Furthermore, through a questionnaire survey to determine the level of pregnant women about pneumococcal disease and the possibility of vaccination against them.
